Introducing Excellent
Excellent is here, and you can download it for Mac today.
Excellent is a team of agents you own — they run the work of a company (your people, your money, your work) on your own machine, on data that stays with you. What makes it different is what it actually is underneath, where it lives, and who operates it.
It's one body of data — and it's yours
Your business was never a stack of apps. It's one body of data — your people, your money, your work — and every tool you rent owns a slice of it.
Excellent gives it back. On first run it writes a single local SQLite file. That file is your whole business, kept as one canonical record: a customer, a candidate, and a contact are the same person, everywhere. There's no tenant to log into and nothing uploaded to our servers. It works offline, exports anytime, and can't be held hostage — because we never hold it in the first place.
You run it through interfaces, not apps
Every screen is a designed interface over that one data layer, not a separate app with its own silo. Use the ones that ship — Work, Customers, Product, Operations, Agents — or shape your own: a board, a dashboard, a report, without a developer or a new subscription. Because every screen is just a view of the same data, you can design your own, anytime.
A team of agents does the work
Excellent isn't a chat box bolted onto a SaaS product. It's built for autonomous agents. Named roles — shipper, verifier, triager, scribe, planner — claim work, move deals through pipelines, screen candidates, and keep things tidy, while you supervise.
And they keep each other honest. A ship/verify gate is built into the core: every change is claimed, evidenced, and signed off by a different agent before it's marked done. No agent approves its own work. Trust comes from the protocol, not from hoping the model behaved.
Pulse reads it. Play moves it.
Pulse reads the whole operation and tells you how the business is doing in a single sentence. Play hands you the one most valuable thing to do next — and says why it surfaced. You see how you're doing and what to do, while the agents handle the day to day.
Bring your own model
Connect Claude, Codex, Gemini, or Grok in a click. The key is sealed on your machine, and the agents bill to your account, never to ours. The model is yours, the data is yours, the machine is yours.
Download it
No account, no sign-in, no onboarding maze — drag it into Applications and it's yours the moment it launches.
