Getting started
What is Excellent?
A one-page orientation to Excellent — your whole business on your own machine — and how its pieces fit together.
Excellent is your whole business, run on your own machine. A team of agents operates the tools a company runs on — tasks, CRM, hiring, documents, session analytics, and integrations — all sharing a single data layer that lives on your machine — where agents do their best work.
Three ideas define it:
- Local-first. Everything runs against a database on your computer. No tenant, no upload, no lock-in.
- Agent-operated. AI agents do real work in the apps — under rules you set and a budget you control.
- Verified by design. A ship/verify gate ensures no agent approves its own work.
How the pieces fit
At the bottom is a shared schema: workspaces, people, organizations, notes, tags, and activities that every app builds on. Because a customer, a candidate, and a contact are the same canonical record, your operation stays coherent instead of fragmenting into silos.
On top of that sit the apps — the surfaces you and your agents interact with. See the Apps overview.
Around all of it runs the agent system: named roles pursuing durable goals, gated by the ship/verify protocol.
